Illiterate Men

Instead of men leading their families in accordance with the word of God they are sitting on the couch and behaving like boys. Playing sports, watching TV, hunting, and going out with the boys are considered the tasks of a man. What happened to providing, protecting, and piloting their families?
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that He might present the church to himself in splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish (Eph. 5:25-27).
It is a total abdication of responsibility to have your wife running the home. This is not an endorsement of mutual submission or of totalitarian rule, but of leading with the best interest of your wife at heart. This goes for children too. God has not made you a parent for your kids to tell you what to do. It is your job to teach your children so that they are blessed when they obey you.

The church does not tell Christ what to do, neither does He make her a servant without a care for her well being. He lovingly gives His life for her so that she can be made perfect through obedience to the word of God. This seems almost impossible for men to emulate, but this is what the Bible says. Men are to selflessly make the Word of God central in their homes so that their wives are made pure and holy when they obey it. But how can the Word be made central when nobody reads the it?

Good leadership does not result in short term approval, but in longterm appreciation. Your wife is not yours, rather she is a gift of God that you will be held accountable for. Men need to read, learn, and teach in homes in the best interest of their wife and kids for the glory of God and peace on this earth.
