Credit Card Leaders

Polling is not leadership. The most popular decisions are not always the right decisions. Rather leadership requires someone to maintain the course chosen even in the face of adversity. It may not be popular, but it must be right.

Over the last decade there has been a lot of emphasis on leadership, but there has been little emphasis on being right. Politicians, the leaders of our countries, are generally thought of as liars who do whatever it takes to win the next election. Unfortunately, they are simply a reflection of ourselves which leaves us very little to be upset about.

The difference between good leadership and bad leadership ultimately comes down to truth. It has the perspective of eternity, not seconds. There are too many credit card leaders out there: Those who want immediate acceptance of their leadership, but have no idea if where they are going will pay off.

Popularity and tradition not the pillars of truth, and indecision is not the pinnacle of decision making.
Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD (Josh. 24:14-15)."
Lead right by serving God, He is the Truth.
